A great day with Tom Mawdsley on this popular follw-up event. This fully booked course had been anticipated since Tom’s visit in the Summer. As promised Tom utilised his own collection and Liverpool Museums to open up the microscopic world of Syrphidae to the attendees. Using keys kindly supplied by Carl Clee, librarian of the Lancs & Cheshire Entomological Society Tom took the participants step by step through a variety of genera and species leaving a happy bunch of naturalists even happier. Big thanks to Rocksavage Power Plant for venue, refreshments and lunch and rECOrd (Karen et al) for bringing microscopes and other tackle along.
