The Bridgewater Canal forms the boundary on the southern edge of the site. Though the water is floristically poor it will add a species list of invertebrates from the turbid waters unlike any of the other aquatic habitats on site. The canal banks and bridge are made from a variety of stone and mortar and these features will have lichen and bryophyte interest.
