Following a great response to the blog regarding the ancient Oak in High Legh I have decided to post a pic of the largest (girth) oak in the county. Known as the Marton Oak. This cathedral-like tree is considered to be over 600 years old. It has been used in the past as a goose enclosure, a calf enclosure and even a had a bespoke wendy house built into the base for a period.
